Founded in 2008, laFantástica started by creating an online platform that would allow artisan communities in developing countries to connect with the outside world.

Encouraged by the need to reduce the distance between their world and ours, we set out to “upload” these communities into the global domain in order to bring their stories to people on the other end. Our goal was not only to improve their livelihoods but to start a whole new business model that would plug their goods and services into existing markets all over the world.
