I am a keen self-taught photographer.
I started shooting with digital but soon after I moved to film, thanks to a friend...a Lomo-friend.
I would say my main field of work was on the street full of candidness, but I do work at home with artificial lights too.
More than an Image-maker I am an Image-taker ...of people most of the time (providing something interesting is happening) but I get captivated by the magic of light often, revealing the grace of everything it touches, even when I am not carrying my camera ...which is sometimes an inadequate instrument to depict the beauty that comes across your eyes
Throughout years of exploring different films, I ended up shooting 6x6 or 6x9 to refine my knowledge and skills; and likely will stick with the 6x6 in B&W, I just love how the human body fits so harmoniously in square compositions. These days I shoot mostly mirrorless with vintage glass as I am still looking for a new project to bring out the TLR and shoot film again.
I enjoy shooting vintage glass (always vintage...) but also fix old cameras when I am in a good mood for it.
I admire and study the old-school masters of photography like Sebastiao Salgado, Philip Lorca diCorcia, Sandy Skoglund, Trent Parke Among many others, but try to keep my eye open to see the work of newcomers, particularly when they happen to be honest thinkers like Arnold Daniel ... a real treasure
