30 Days of Sustainability kicks off on Earth Day, April 22, 2008 and runs to May 21, 2008 in B.C.’s numerous municipalities. The annual celebration is organized and produced under the stewardship of 30 Days of Sustainability Society.

30 Days of Sustainability Society is a non-profit society dedicated to raising awareness of sustainable living in Western Canada. The organization aims to encourage individuals, organizations, government and other groups to adopt sustainable practices into their daily lives and values.

The Society strives to achieve its vision by fostering dialogue among diverse constituents; creating opportunities to integrate sustainable living principles and practices; encouraging individual and collective action; and developing tools to monitor our community’s progress toward long-term sustainability.

Now in its third year, 30 Days of Sustainability is Western Canada’s first major sustainability program that aims to create an awareness of sustainability and engage British Columbians to work together to accelerate the uptake of sustainable living, not just for 30 days, but on a year-round basis.

30 Days of Sustainability also aims to educate and integrate sustainability into the values and daily lives of diverse individuals and groups through a variety of business, social, education, and media awareness programs.
