what has struck me since I first came across the photography of H.S. is an exceptional ability to understand the intentions of the architect in question and to portray it. that means suspending personal judgement and even challenging photographic technology as in the Ficticious set. but it always happens with a purpose which I see as creating a concord between photographer and architect, image and building. this is a lot rarer than one might think and makes H.S. a genuine architectural photographer. I am guessing that he is a trained architect considering how abstract and difficult a field it is to understand.
