Up It Up! Records was founded in Rome, Italy, in early 2003. PG Cau (musician, nerd), Jamie Fazi (a pianist, half british) and Paolo Elmo (loves noise, eats a lot) decided to create a platform for presenting their music, giving others the possibility to contribute their work as well.

PG met Dennis Knopf on a student exchange program in Germany when he was 18; he had heard one of his CDs at a friends house, and one night at a Barbeque he asked him if he wanted to talk about music. "No," Dennis replied and walked away, not knowing that soon they would start sending weekly packs via mail to each other. Couple years later Dennis joined the team and Up It Up was born.

We started releasing free mp3 albums (Upfrees), and as the word spread over the web people started contributing music. Canada, Netherlands, Japan, Australia, USA, Germany, France – to name some of the places people have been upping it up.
