Drag to set position!
I got into SLR photography in my mid-20s after trying an Instamatic for a short time.
I later noticed a small insect living in the viewfinder. I was annoyed by this and I took the camera apart to remove the insect.
After the camera was reassembled, I had three screws left over! So, I bought an identical camera (both were used camera) and pulled that apart to learn where the missing screws came from.
I then had two cameras which shared the same lenses. I had intended to sell one after fixing the first but I persuaded myself it would be great to have one for B+W and the other for colour.
Thence began my long and varied journey into acquiring photographic gear only a little of which has been traded in as I went along.
Currently, I have a Leaf Credo 60 digital back which works with my Hasselblad 500 series bodies and a Flexbody as well as with a Linhof Techno outfit.
I have a Sigma Merrill DP2 for my point and shoot and some other smaller cameras, including an iPhone.
I also have a Linhof 612 with 65 and 130mm lenses.
I shoot some film in the film-capable cameras because the Credo back is too expensive for me to insure when traveling overseas.
I enjoy taking photos outdoors and going on assignment with others. If you want to go for a wander in the Wellington or Hawkes Bay areas or anywhere that is interesting, send me a message.
