The Moments Inbetween.

Hi my name is Jarrad Nelson, and this is some of my photographic work. Not all of it but a few pieces that make me happy that I picked up a camera.

I'm from Johannesburg South Africa. I began taking photos a little while back, for one of my birthdays I was given a film camera. A nifty Pentax, ah yes, good times. Every where I went, I was accompanied by the little Pentax, we bonded, became friends, and fought regularly.

We parted ways shortly after I decided to take on the world of music photography, and try I did. This was the logical route for a university student to achieve some free tickets and meet random people. Ah yes,it sounded like the perfect plan, until I got there, realized I didn't have a clue of what I was doing and need to produce images at the end of the four day haze. So after many festivals,local shows and studio sessions I'm rather pleased to say I was sober enough times to produce a portfolio, have my work syndicated in national newspapers and appear in a book on South African music.

Many people want to classify themselves as this and that, and I know its hard not to, but in photography I just feel that if you have the energy, the photographs have the story. So now I'm on my little journey in a place far colder than home - called London.

I'm not really sure about what I shall achieve, but at least I'll have the photo's for when the memories fade.
