A NOTE, WRITTEN TOWARDS THE END OF MAY 2013:

The Whitsun of 2013 saw Flickr upgrading itself, with

the consequence for me that the pictures in my stream

can no longer be viewed by others as presented in whole

pages of 18 posts each = pages carefully designed by me,

thematically speaking as well as visually and graphically :(

As of 21 May 2013, all Flickr streams are but chronological

strings of single posts, turning my page headings and my

other references before that date into a messy nonsense.

.

.

The camera is a

machine for

drawing

with

light

and for

stopping

the world

in its tracks

and changing

a moment in life

into something new

that reads as chronicle

but speaks in terms of art

- I wrote that, one day in 2010.

But in 1967, Peter Brook wrote in Aperture (XIII/2)

One view of photography is that it is a zen-like act

which captures reality with its pants down - so that the

vital click shows the anatomy bare. (/) For this work, the

photographer's instinct is his aid, his personality a

hindrance. Ay, there's the rub. Maybe that's why?

Food for thought, for despair, for courage.

I am a wastepaper basket :

the world gathers in me as

bits & pieces, odds & ends

I am a neat bucket, all shot

through with holes; I am all

emotion, wetting the floor of

the world with pics & words

I am a trellis : supposed to be

supportive I also feel quite frail

I am a window behind bars, you

look in and see next to nothing, I

look out and see all too much, we

move through time, getting nowhere

- I wrote that as a comment for a photo

that Edyta Ubych uploaded on 13 IV 2012

available light photography . . . mmm, I like that (term)

I think the body in every way is poetry itself

(Mathilda Eberhard said that; follow her work on Flickr ! )

PLEASE NOTE

I am over 18/21 years of age.

All pics in my stream are photos taken by me and should

be considered to be covered by all manner of copyright,

even if the material is completely out in the open here, OK?

If, however, a photograph contains / happens to contain you

as a subject, you are free to download the image and use it.

PLEASE GO SEE my great friend Ole Bremer's work (photos & drawings) at

www.flickr.com/photos/faun_cph/ and also at his private web gallery,

www.olebremerp.dk - the current show (Autumn of 2012) is No.40 : FALL. Enjoy!

To get to see all his Flickr posts, however, current Flickr policies make it necessary for you to be accepted as a friend by Faun_Cph himself; access to Ole Bremer's own web gallery is not thus restricted, of course, so miss it, and miss out!

STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA ( . . . 'LIKE THE DIGICAM TOOK POLAROIDS ONLY')

MY FIRST 198 Flickr posts were made with the camera in my tiny Samsung mobile phone SGH-E330N.

ON 19 SEPTEMBER 2006 I became the proud owner of a small handy Panasonic digital camera DMC-FX01.

FROM THEN ON, only the sprinkling of Flickr posts labeled "mobcam photo, not edited" were not taken with my digicam (or indeed the Olympus dumped into my lap in

the Spring of 2013: A machine for special occasions / jobs)

AS OF 29 APRIL 2009 my digicam was a Panasonic DMC-FX37.

* AS OF 14 March 2011 my digicam is a Panasonic DMC-TZ9.

* * AS OF June 2013 I also have access to an Olympus 520 DC7.4V

IF EVER I get to apply any manipulation to my raw digicam captures, I shall say so in each case;; for the time being I'm content with the challenge of never touching them. *

That is quite a challenging modus operandi, folks! But it's easy peasy too, you really get work done, you have fun all the time, and you learn, you learn!

* In January 2008, however, Flickr offered patrons some new tools, and subsequently this line will appear in the first comment for any one relevant post in my stream, Post auto-fixed with a Picnik facility provided by Flickr. The auto-fixing is the only tool I use on a regular basis now; a very slight cropping on the sides has been tried out in a few cases too, with a notice appearing in my comments.* As of 2010 i have also enjoyed using the Picnic tool allowing one to straighten lines, and the option to flip pics is one I find both helpful (page layout) and illuminating (how differently we sometimes read pictures when they are flipped). The signs 's' /'S' and 'M' will appear in the comment for the post, when pics have been straightened or flipped. * As of Easter 2012, the Picnik facility was replaced by one called Aviary, and you may now encounter this disclaimer of mine, Post tweaked with an Aviary facility provided by Flickr; not that I'm entirely satisfied that Aviary represents any improvement on Picnik; 'au contraire', perhaps . . .

MY BUDDY ICON shows part of a gouache by Ole Bremer P, The Double Birth of Dionysos (1992). The original drawing looms in the background of one of my shadowy indoor mobcam shots, which is also where I nicked this detail, so don't let my gritty Flickr icon fool you - the original is crisp and elegant *. The double birth of Dionysos - or the real us, bravely trying to escape from within the us that, in the eyes of the world, we are represented by at any given moment of our journey on earth?

* Here is a more recent digicam capture of that gouache -

* And check out the shadow that this vintage dude casts -

AND THESE, FOLKS,

>>__<<

or ^__^

are two emotikons that I use a lot in my comments, often on their own so that we are spared all the words. Get used to them - they are my friendly indications of appreciation & approval ;)

MY FIRST NAME has a Danish mute -d at the end; the vowel should be short, and in real life it even has a glottal stop to it

IF YOU THINK THIS PROFILE TEXT IS TOO MUCH AND WAY TOO LONG . . .

I suggest that you look at pics instead, they speak volumes in silent epigrams or, indeed, they say nothing in so many words

L'art est grand, le sentiment infini, l'intelligence bornée

- Berlioz wrote that in a feuillet manuscrit autographe, below a little melody, 3/8 allegretto

Also, dig this message -:

www.flickr.com/photos/76104785@N00/12694074/

When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.

When actions come from another section, the feeling disappears.

Don't let others lead you.

They may be blind or, worse, vultures.

Reach for the rope of God.

And what is that?

Putting aside self-will.

-

There is a moving palace that floats in the air

with balconies and clear water flowing through,

infinity everywhere, yet contained under a single tent.
