Photography pushes me to explore the beauty within my sphere. I especially enjoy photographing people and nature. I have used a variety of cameras over time. I started with a Brownie camera made by Kodak when I was about 5 years old. I still carry in my wallet one of the first photos I ever took. It was of mom and dad, of course! My father was a photographer, and we were a mostly a Canon family, although he did have a nice Leica, too. He passed along to me the basics of composition and lighting. However, he was a much more technical photographer than I was then. He was shooting photos before digital cameras arrived, so he kept a notebook recording how various shutter speed and f-stops captured the nuances of his subjects. When I am out taking photos, I recall his advice and remember good times we had together.
