I take my camera almost every time I go out. I have a passion for churches but I'm not a one-trick pony. I have a passion for the built heritage of the United Kingdom. That passion sometimes takes me into the less visited parts of our towns and cities but it's there where I find some of my favourite buildings - particularly Victorian buildings - my first love. I am a member of the Victorian Society and, in my 20 plus year membership I can now differentiate between Burne-Jones & Tom Jones and between George Gilbert Scott & Robert Falcon Scott. I am not an academic nor have I ever been to university - that was for the posh kids when I went to school. I am a working-class kid from a council estate who has arrived late to architecture. My eyes, in my heyday, were always lifted to the hills. All my precious days off were spent walking, usually in the Peak District or the Lakes with visits from time to time to the Dales, to Snowdonia or even to Scotland - but my Munro total only reached 19 - mind you, I have walked to the top of all 214 Wainwrights - happy days!

My collection of photographs is a scrapbook of my high days and holidays - nothing more. I add a brief explanation but I only add lengthier descriptions where I choose. I do not copy and paste blindly merely to gather more views. I'm not here for self-aggrandizement.

Footnote - I've been wanting to do it for a while, but haven't found the time.

Followers - I have been pondering why some Flickrites have chosen to follow me. I have my own suspicions and have sought some friendly advice. When I look at a percentage of my followers, their profile and their photostream - it would seem we have absolutely nothing in common at all. Some have precisely nothing to offer in return. I have, therefore, already started to remove some of them - a gentle cull. If I do remove you or block you, and you still have a genuine reason to follow my photostream, I'm sure you'll find a way to return. In the meantime, if you are considering following my photostream, my albums and my collections I would be grateful if you have something to offer in return. If you are a new Flickrite I am happy to have you on board - but you'll need to have something to offer, given time.
