There was a time when I simply could not understand why folk wasted their time taking photographs. I always thought they were ‘missing the moment' engaging in what was simply a distraction from reality. I realise now of course, that this point of view (for most photographers anyway) is largely not true. Personally, I know that what I attempt to do with camera in hand is actually capture the moment and that the results achieved are unique - for me and for anyone else that cares to view. Experiencing and immersing myself emotionally - capturing the play of light in time in that instantaneous shutter speed moment - is for me an immensely engaging and satisfying pastime.
