Cameron A. Straughan
Drag to set position!
I am a Canadian writer, photographer, film maker, former biologist and currently a teacher. I lead a nomadic existence; I have lived and worked throughout Canada, New York and England.
Most of my photos were taken using my 35 mm Fuji STX-2 camera and alternating between Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400 ISO colour and Ilford HP5 black and white film. I received the Fuji STX-2 for Christmas, 1987; I have used it religiously ever since and it has never let me down. I have no desire to switch exclusively to digital "photography" which I call something else - "graphic design". I like the grainy, cinematic quality of 35 mm film; often, I find the imperfections the most interesting part of the photo. I like having to wait for my exposures to be processed, hoping for the best. There's a certain magic when I finally see what I have captured.
