I'm a work-at-home (director of a non-profit) mom who homeschools my three kids - a daughter 15, a son 14, and a daughter 12. They are all crafty too and there's usually a plethora of projects going on around our house!

Long ago I did a lot of sewing, then moved to the paper arts, now have come back to sewing again the last several years. I love to make purses, quilts, and other home stuff for myself and for gifts.

We have two dear pet rabbits (both rescued), a bonded male and female pair named Theodore Roosevelt and Twizzler, a rescue kitty named Crystal and a stray that found us just before Christmas this year, named Oswin. My 15yo daughter trains guide dogs for the blind! Her first dog Henna went on to be a breeder, had a litter of 7 puppies, then went on to join the Connecticut State Police as a bomb detection pup. My daughter's second dog Leila is now in professional guide dog training outside of New York City. She's now raising her third puppy, Jammy, who is her first dog Henna's puppy. We enjoy our little suburban zoo here! : )

I love Flickr swapping because it's soooo inspirational to see what people are making. I love many different styles, from edgy and modern to fresh and feminine to vintage. I love linen, wool, felt, embroidery, applique, the list goes on and on. Recently I've had some fun with batiks and using them in a more fun, fresh way. There is so much to explore in the world of fabric!

I just came back from QuiltCon in Austin and it was sooo inspiring! I think it's causing me to embrace a more modern aesthetic, though I do love that sweet vintage look too. It's all good when it comes to quilts!
