Welcome to the Oidhreacht 2008 Heritage Photographic Competition!

 

South Dublin County Libraries are pleased to announce our

9th annual heritage photographic competition. This year the

format will be a little different. We’re now going digital and

want you to submit your entries in JPEG format via email.

The criteria for the competition remain the same – photos

must portray an element of the heritage of the South Dublin

County administrative region.

Examples of our heritage include –

• The built heritage: castles, houses,

churches, bridges, mills, monuments

• Rural, agricultural, mountain natural

and man-made landscapes

• Schools, colleges, libraries, museums, heritage centres and

community buildings and facilities

• Roads, lanes, canals, railways and vehicles

• Sport and entertainment

• People at work and at play

• Customs and practices

• Festivals, events and occasions

 

Conditions of Entry

• Entry is free and open to all

• Entrants do not have to reside in the County

• Photographs must be relevant to the South Dublin

County administrative area, otherwise they are

deemed ineligible

• A maximum of three photos per person may be

entered

• Entries must be submitted in JPEG format only and

no bigger than 2MB in size

• Entries must be emailed to:

• There are two categories – Under 18 and Adult:

Under 18 entrants must be aged under 18 on the

closing date of 31st August 2008

• By entering you are granting permission to South

Dublin County Libraries to reproduce winning entries

for promotional purposes

• All entries must be the property of the entrant

• Entrants must agree to be bound by the rules

• The judges decision is final
