Although I have only known her for a relatively short time, she is like the virtual big sister I never had- always there for you, very supportive and genuine. Her pictures always exude her personality; gentle, slightly whimsical and also possibly a little bit vulnerable but pursing her own path and growing in confidence all the time. Dear Sisters, While many of us may reflect on our evolution to our preferred state and I would say, like an "onion" peeling off the layers that have grown, my dear Sophie is like a "peach" so soft on the outside, sweet within and no layers between. While I've looked upon my changes like a blacksmith hammering the iron into a shape, Sophie has a naturalness blessed upon her through "the higher up". I've been privileged to know Sophie but a short time, yet have known her all my life...how so?! Her source of womanly grace and nurturing love comes from the center we all seek. Having her as a friend gives us another bond within our sisterhood and another aid in the maturation of the woman we want to be. Sophie, you have an innocent kindness that touches us all and even in the short time of our knowing each other I watch as someone viewing the blooming of a lovely flower in a well cared for garden. Sophie is a rare bird. She is one of the lovely, engaging few and, certainly, a quite different kind of transwoman. She illuminates my little world with a wondrous and, at times, wistful hue which is her own journey of self discovery. And even I, who have become a little more cynical and ho-hum by much of the tranny world, am uplifted and re-energised by following her photo journey and commentary. I think she makes us all feel a little bit better about ourselves. In another place and time, she would remind me of the Greer Garson character in the old film ‘Mrs Miniver’ – intelligent, courteous, caring, gentle and benign – but with an inner strength. You just know she is always in control of her own world and she is always a lady.
