I’m your basic Nature Nut. I love the outdoors! I became a serious birder in 2002 and the desire to capture their beauty is what sparked my interest in photography. I purchased my DSLR (Nikon D80) in July of 2008. Being self-taught, I did a lot of reading about photography and I began to look at every subject more closely. This only fed my enthusiasm for wild things and I now seek out just about any nature related subject to photograph – landscapes, waterfalls, mushrooms, butterflies, animals, snakes… and of course birds!
In this fast paced life, so many people never stop to notice the natural beauty all around us. My goal is to capture that beauty and share it with others. I hope to create images that trigger an emotional response in the viewer. And I am on a constant mission to learn from others - be it technique or artistic vision - in hopes of improving my own work
Flickr has been a tremendous resource for me. The camaraderie encourages me to keep pressing on and the photography of others inspires me. The creative work I see on Flickr often amazes me and opens my eyes to new ways of seeing. I appreciate all comments, so feel free to critique my images as you see fit. I try to reciprocate as much as possible.
