OK, I am officially the wrong side of 58. Hopelessly in love with my wife, Faye. A proud daddy of Bee, our little daughter. I have worked in many places in this world. A renowned D. J. developed the A. R. Live Sound Archive, one of the biggest privately owned music archives in the world.
Photography is my escape, it is my passion outside of my family, it's good just to take time out and focus on capturing the moment. I have no agenda, no speciality techniques, I love trying new genres and aspects that can be created. But taking the image is very much just part of the story, rather like when a diamond polisher takes a rough piece of rock and polishes it to a most beautiful multifaceted diamond. Hmm a bit romantic perhaps, but all photographers love a metaphor for their art.
To me, I came into photography through my Grandad, I loved him to bits and when he passed I was left a little money. I thought what better way to remember him by, than with a camera. That was nearly 50 years ago. I started with a Ricoh KR10 film camera and after a hiatus of several years entered the world of digital with a Sony A350. My ambition,(if I had one in photography) was to shoot with Nikon. They made some amazing film cameras back in the day. So when I was able to afford a Nikon camera, I moved into the Nikon Ecosystem, and that's where I have stayed. I have no loyalty when it comes to camera manufacturers. I do understand there are other amazing systems out there. I believe you work with what you are comfortable with and Nikon, for me, suites my style.
Well that's my story up to now, who knows where I will be next...
Thanks for looking at my work ...

When I must say that you have a glorious portfolio of work... I found one of your shots in the Topaz group, and since I am an avid fan and user of the Topaz Studio 2, I often peruse the group. It also seems we have something else in common, my mother was born in Rochdale and lived in Shaw until she met my father, an American stationed there in the fifties. I also lived there for a couple of years with my grandparents in the early 70's... I had some big adventures riding the bus for 2-pence all around Manchester! I now live in Chile and have been here for 11 years. Cheers! John
