I maintain my Flickr account because of the many and varied photographs offered by my contacts. I also like to share the somewhat varied photographs I have taken. I love prairie scenes and cloudscapes. I like old aircraft from the interwar and World War II eras, as well as some newer aircraft. Trains, trolleys, and light rail vehicles also are fascinating.
Ever since I cut the power cord to my parent's 17-inch Zenith television in the late 1960s I have had a passion for electricity! It is all Leonard Nimoy's fault, Mr. Spock scared me, and my brother wanted to watch Star Trek.
I also have an insatiable desire to learn how things work. I read extensively about energy, transportation, chemistry, biology, food science, and the environment.
Water is amazing to me! I love everything about its chemical and physical characteristics! It has the power to generate massive thunderstorms that can unleash the power of numerous atomic bombs! It can drive turbines in a dam to generate electricity or exert such pressure as to break the dam! As a vapor it can turn other turbines, or in its liquid state can be used as a coolant in machines. Over time it can change landscapes and continents! Most importantly, it is necessary for the sustaining of life! Water is awesome!
Lastly, I am a sucker for cute furry creatures! My wife and I have two guinea pigs, Rocky Rhodes and Patches Pierre, along with Maximilian Del Rio the Shih Tzu.
