Don't just take a casual browse through MHB-Lela's photos. Take the time to look at it, to study them and to enjoy them. And if possible, attempt to use these pictures to look into another world. MHB-Lela is definitely one of the rare photographers that you encounter only once in a long while. Her unique perspective, insights into ballet and use of light has developed into an unique style, showing us her world and the details that would be easily overlooked. I had the chance to watch one of the ballets that MHB-Lela photographed, and I found myself stunned at the limited lighting, inconvenient shadows and the challenges that I saw. However, as is evident from the consistent results, she has been well able to shape all that into her photography. I will claim that it is hard to find another person with an equivalent grasp of photography under conditions of dramatic lighting. It is definitely worth the time to return repeatedly to her photostream.

Maria 'Lela' is a beautiful person at heart and this reflects in each of her photographs. She masters in the art of portraying the subtle and 'normally overlooked' side of her subjects. Though I have known her only a couple of months, I can so easily relate to her pictures and also learn a lot from them as if I have observed her work for years! She is a true GEM in ballet photography, her photographs being a perfect blend of art, feelings and imagery. I really look forward to each of her works with baited breath! I wish her the best in all her endeavours! Oh yes! Did I mention that she has a BIG HEART? The other day I was just telling her about how I need to quickly get a PRO account to be able to post more pics, and presto! She gifted it to me the very next day! :-)
