I’m based in Dublin, Ireland.

 

For me, photography is an artistic and personal way to capture reality - while escaping from it!

 

The process relies on a combination of luck, skill, and a lot of faffing about with settings and composition while getting into the best position for a shot.

 

It is also a chance - like it or not – to chat to passers-by who always seem comfortable in the presence of someone with a camera.

 

The process is a joy for me.

 

A mindful pursuit that gets me off the couch and into nature.

 

If I get a good photograph, it’s a bonus :-)

 

Calling myself a photographer – one who takes photos – while accurate, still feels a little strange.

 

I admire so many photographers’ work on this platform and try not to compare myself too much.

 

That’s a thankless task!

 

I'm drawn to the sea, the sky, and nature.

 

Animals provide endless fascination, while people evoke stories, memories, and wonder in equal measure.

 

I am working hard to build what I call ‘the photographer’s superpower’ – the ability to see compositions everywhere.

 

I know I am making progress when I count the thousands of photographs I saw, but didn't take!
