I live in Weardale in the west of County Durham in the UK. I was born in Cheshire but have lived all over the place.

Where I live, is at an altitude of 1000 feet above sea level. That's quite high for the UK. I am lucky enough to have a tremendous view from home towards the North Pennines. My location produces beautiful sunsets on a very regular basis.

I like hill walking but don't do as much as I'd like. I stop a lot to take photos.

I don't normally post my photos in groups, mainly because my photos are rarely special. Another reason is because of the practice of gaining meaningless "Awards". Some Flickr members have huge numbers of compliments on very very ordinary photos, even bad ones. I don't see the point. Having said that, I really appreciate constructive criticism on my photos. I hope most people can identify with that. Oh! I forgot... on at least two occasions I've been the first to comment on a great photo, then 3 million more people comment on it and I get an RSS feed for every single additional comment, does anybody know how to stop this?

Cheers!
