I'm a computer analyst and work for the State of Michigan. Don't have a lot of hobbies at the moment, due to dealing a lot with sick family members. Past hobbies included Tennis, Snowmobiling, racketball, videography. I take a few snapshots with a digital camera now and then, nothing big. I have a Sony HD cam which can take pictures as it's filming video. Shoot primarily with whatever I have on hand, if I see something interesting. I used to shoot wedding videos a bit on the side and concert videos (feeding giant screens) for local Christian events.
I like to study natural building and straw bale building and explore techniques in vehicles that make them more efficient. Perhaps I will build an Electric Vehicle in the next few years. I'd like to study off grid living and talk about the various energy theories about fossil fuels, those being conspiracy vs. peak oil. I like to think of Peak Oil theories as probability of something happening scenarios. In other words, maybe Peak Oil isn't correct, but maybe there's a 20% chance that early peakers or mid peak theorists are correct in the next 3 to 5 years. If they are, what can I do personally to prepare for it, is a 20% chance of Peak Oil being a theory that pans out worth preparing for at least partially? And if oil and other fuels are going up irregardless of greed or peak being the cause, doesn't that mean we need to focus on conserving energy personally to at least save money and get ready for harder times ahead?
