Benjamin Williams is a composer in central Ohio pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition at The Ohio State University School of Music. He is married to violinist Emily Williams. Williams has had performances by The Akron New Music Ensemble, The University of Akron Chamber Choir, and The Cleveland Chamber Symphony under the direction of Dr. Daniel McCarthy. Recent performances include the 2008 The Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference, Electronic Music Midwest Festival, Kentucky New Music Festival, SCI Region VI Conference and the University of Nebraska New Music Festival. He has recently been awarded by the Johnstone Woodwind Master Series III Competition and the APSU 21st Annual Young Composers Competition. Williams has also been a National Federation of Music Clubs recipient of the ASCAP/Victor Herbert Award as well as an honorable mention by the San Francisco Choral Artists. Recent commissions include the University of Akron Men's Chorus.
