I take all sorts of photos - I don't seem to have a particular style yet. I guess I'm happy being a bit random in my style.
Please comment on my stuff, especially if you think there's something I'm doing wrong or some way you think I could improve - I like a bit of feedback.
I started off with a Canon A70 ages ago. That got nicked so I got a Canon A620 which I keep in my rucksack most times.
In Autumn 2008 I got a Sony Alpha 300 - they're great value in my opinion.
In buying a 50mm f1.7 Minolta lens off an auction site I ended up getting a Minolta 7000 then a selection of M42 lenses. I got another partially working Minolta 7000 to experiment with, then realising I really wanted a split-image focusing screen for these manual lenses, I ended up getting a Minolta X300. Thus I am experimenting with film cameras at the moment, partly because there is some lovely kit available from the bay for not much money but mostly because I will take £40 worth of camera and lens places I wouldn't take £600 worth. It's almost like a heavy disposable camera?!
I'm looking forward to summer and taking my cameras on more adventures.
MAY09 - My photo addiction has deteriorated: I am now telling myself I need a film scanner - this is for all the film photos I've been taking. I'm starting to get why people love film. I may have to learn developing, but not just yet... ag - I must remember to focus on the photos, not all the tools on the side...
Oct09 - So I've had the film scanner for a while now. It's not bad, but not great either: images typically come out a bit soft and all need high pass sharpening. I still love taking film photos, but now winter's approaching, I think it's going to be mostly digital for a while. Thus I've ordered a split image viewfinder for my a300. Quite excited actually - all those lovely wide aperture primes waiting for an adventure on my DSLR. YAY!!!
I HAVE DECIDED - ANYONE WHO INVITES ME TO A GROUP THAT REQUIRES ME TO ADD A NUMBER OF CONTACTS AFTER I JOIN WILL CEASE TO BE MY CONTACT. GROUPS SHOULD NOT WORK THAT WAY. ENFORCED VIRAL GROWTH OF A GROUP DEMEANS THE VALUE OF A GROUP. I WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS.
Feb 10 - I have a new lens!!! 135mm Rokkor manual lens for 13 quid!!! And it's mint! Sweet! Can't wait to take some photos with it...
