So, it all began last year, when Dana and I visited a catshow.
Well, Dana didn't love cats very much, but still she was really impressed by a gorgeous big blue teddy bear like tomcat - later we found out he was a British shorthair.
We were that impressed that we wanted to have a beautiful cat like this. We have contacted one of the few British Shorthair breeders in Romania and they registered us for a future kitten.
We hoped for a brown lady :)
One day the phone rang and we had the first news from the breeders : a lady cat just had kittens with that superb tomcat we first saw in the cat show, but no brown baby for us. But the breeder told us there was a red Garfield like little girl for us.
We accepted her immediately and then paid them a visit. She was very pretty - a little fluffy red ball of fur.
We just had to wait a little more for that little ball of fur to grow. One day, the phone rang again. 'We have bad news and good news for you' - the voice said. In that moment we were afraid that something bad had happened to our kitty.
The good news is that the kitten is going excellent. The bad news is that the kitty is not a she, is a he. He's going to be a big red tomcat someday.
The day we took him home, a month after last time we saw him, we were really scared: instead of a little red kitten we expected to get, we got a kitten as large as a full grown common cat. He looked just like big red pumpkin :-) - our lovely baby cat. I barely can hold him, although he was just 3 months old.
And that's how we got our red Rubi.
