As they say, 'What comes around, goes around'. Or something like that. Perhaps it's the second childhood kicking in. What I do know is that as a child, I thoroughly enjoyed taking photographs everywhere I went. Think Air Force brat with camera. I shot mostly with my 35mm Kodak Instamatic, and then later with my Pentax K1000.

Fast forward 30 years and I find myself with a new Nikon D40x. How could I have forgotten the thrill of photography? And now, I can combine two of my passions, computing and photography, by the grace of the internet.

Each time I take my camera out now, I learn more about the fundamentals of photography, lighting, composition and exposure. This photostream shows my trials and errors, and successes also. It helps me to digest what I am doing well, and to avoid the pitfalls in the future.

My current equipment is a Nikon D40x with the 18-55 and 18-105 VR lenses.
