Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks advanced wing shooting classes were very popular for several years. Several of these classes were hosted by Powder Creek shooting facility in Lenexa, KS, a great local place to shoot shotguns.
Mr. Wayne Doyle was KDWP hunter education state coordinator, who was the driving force behind these classes. Under his control, supervision, assistance, and direction, a number of seasoned hunter education instructors were sent to National Sporting Clays Association instructor training. Wayne's ongoing passion for our sport has influenced a great many people in a positive way.
The future of sport hunting needs more true heroes like Wayne Doyle.
Kansas City Safari Club International member Mr. Alex Lowe was also very generous and helpful with these classes, allowing our extended use of his property near Gardner, Kansas for several classes. Sport hunting needs more true heroes like Alex also.
KDWP furnishes management, training, equipment, materials, and boundless support for these advanced wing shooting classes. The Department spends thousands of dollars to promote the safe, ethical, and enjoyable hunting experience.
Over my 27 years of teaching KDWP hunter education classes, The Department sent me to multiple National Rifle Association (NRA) training classes granting the opportunity to become certified and licensed in a broad number of shooting disciplines.
Our 8 week classes frequently went to 10 or 12 weeks, and we offered Sunday afternoon as a make up day, so (most) students shot twice per week.
The newer trail camera stuff is in my backyard.
Everyday is Thanksgiving.
