I have been teaching Environmental Horticulture courses for many years which has led to an enormous slide collection, especially of plants. Consequently, many of the pics in Jim's Plants have been scanned (Nikon Super Coolscan 5000) and more recent ones taken with a Nikon D80. Some of the slides have been taken by students like Kathy Gregg and Daniel Shimmon for which I am deeply grateful. Most of the slides from the Botanical Conservatory, Strybing Arboretum, Yosemite and the Olympic Peninsula were by Kathy, and many of the Sierra Nevada wildflowers are by Dan. Also, Dick Criley and Avrim Danin have been very generous with slides from Hawaii and Israel, respectively. I also want to thank my very special mentors and friends Warren Roberts and Andy Leiser for their guidance through the plant world. However, any mistakes in identification or nomenclature are mine. I am also indebted to Niels Proctor for guidance through the e-world. The images in Jim's Plants are really a large group effort. Thanks to you all.
