I got started in 1985 when my cousin lent me his SLR for the afternoon. That led onto a praktica then a minolta until I went digital in 1999. I got my Nikon D50 in 2006 but am now saving up for a D300.

I found film limiting in that I had no interest in developing and the hobby was quite expensive for film and prints. Digital opened up the digital darkroom and I lost the reluctance to experiement as failures could just be deleted.

I've just completed the Open University T189 course which I thoroughly enjoyed.
