[2020] In the last few years I've added many retrospective collections of photos as well as new ones. I suggest that you start by viewing the albums and/or collections as I'm trying to do better organization that way. Recent digitization of 35mm slides have resulted in collections related to trips in the US, Europe, and East Africa. There are also several albums of special collections, Windows and Patterns.
[2017] I've been taking photographs for many years, but until 2005 I used an SLR and shot mostly slide film. Currently I'm using a Nikon Coolpix with a 42X optical zoom and enjoying the flexibility. (I don't miss having to change all those lenses!) On my first trip to Hungary and Transylvania however it was wonderfully easy to carry a little Kodak digital camera along, never having to change film, only chips. But the Nikon provides flexibility and quality.
I hope to be able to digitize many of my slide collections in the next year. I have traveled extensively in Europe and the US, was a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, and have done some nature photography, mostly in southeastern Michigan.
Update: I've begun to digitize some of my slide collections, starting with a Scandinavian trip in May 1999. It is wonderful to vicariously relive this trip through the rather tedious processing.
Update 1/25/10: Finished digitizing and processing the 1999 Scandinavian trip, but still need to upload the last group to Flickr. Finished digitizing the Peace Corps slides, but much processing remains. I'll be putting those up a few at a time.
Update 3/30/10: Have put up some Peace Corps photos.
Update 10/2014: Added photos of the Peace Corps reunion in Estes Park, CO.
Update Feb. 2015: Began adding photos of digitized slides of France taken in 1968-2008.
Update May 2020: The quarantine has given me time to digitize more slides...a 1990 trip to Europe, trips in 1981 and 1982 in the US.
