Welcome to my Flickr page!
I am President and Co-Founder of Fight OUT Loud, a national non-profit organization dedicated to empowering LGBT individuals, and their allies, to fight discrimination and hate. My partner and I were inspired to get involved in activism and create Fight OUT Loud as a result of an eye-opening experience of discrimination (read about it HERE or just ask me).
I am a vocal community activist and LGBT rights advocate. Besides my non-profit work, I also work as political consultant specializing in web-based action, social networking, and youth outreach. I am also a contributing editor for The Bilerico Project, the nation's leading LGBTQ blog forum, and the managing editor for Bilerico-Florida.
I have been happily partnered for 6 years with my amazing husband Anthony Niedwiecki, a law professor and administrator at Nova Southeastern University (and running for Mayor of Oakland Park in 2009! Woo-Hoo!). We received our civil union from Vermont and are registered domestic partners in Broward County, where we live with our two wonderful dogs. We are also is the proud foster parents of a now college-aged son. We recently married in California.
When I'm not completely immersed in advocacy work, I somehow manage to have a good time and truly enjoy life. The most important things to me are just to be happy, live life to its fullest, and help others do the same.
All in all, I am trying to do my best to make the world around me better. I am also someone who is always looking to talk and get to know new, quality people. I am always looking to expand my group of friends and hang out buddies. So feel free to say hello!
