I taught 7th grade science for 13 years and was lucky enough to have school holidays to visit the beautiful places in the world. In November of 2008, I decided to leave the teaching profession and pursue a life in running my own business. I like to be my own boss! LOL.

I love to take pictures with my sony cybershot anywhere I go. National and State Parks are my favorites. I also love to explore other countries. So, I've done a lot of traveling. Hiking, camping, biking, swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, and fishing are some of my favorite outdoor activities. Indoor activities involve oil painting, making jewelry, loving my pets, and playing with all sorts of electronic devices (computers, iPods, video games, text messaging, etc.).

I've been taking pictures for a while but never took a class. Some say I have a natural eye for nature and pictures. But, I'm no pro. I couldn't tell you much about cameras but I can definitely figure out just about any digital camera put in my hands. As technology gets better, taking pictures gets easier. After seeing some of you all's photos out there, I'm realizing I still have a lot to learn. I hope to learn some things on this "flickr" adventure. Plus, meet a lot of nice interesting people from around the world.

I have a passion for nature. It stirs the soul within me, and it brings me great joy to see other passionate nature lovers out there. It's inspiring and fills me with hope. When I was a teacher, I saw our future on a daily basis. I just hope that with the "green movements" taking place now, our planet will heal from past mistakes. As an optimist, I hope that humanity will learn to get back to our roots and see where we truly come from. Photography is just one way to share this beauty and wonder.

On a lighter note.... I love to have fun, explore, and experience things in this world. I have a weakness for fantasy creatures, cats, fairies, dragons, castles, and magical moments. I've always wanted to visit a castle.
