3/30/2012 - With all the recent rains & now abundant sunshine & beautiful weather I have begun to see jumpers and webbing all over. Fingers crossed that we get a lot of spiders before summer's heat.

2/25/2012 - The rains have come but the weather is so strange here (freezing cold one day, 95 the next) that I fear the spider population may take years to rebound. I'm a very sad biologist.

9/6/2011 - The Drought here in TX has severely hampered my Spider Population, hopefully with rain will come the spiders...I am hopeful that I will have some more subjects soon.

-I really like taking pictures of spiders - arachnids are my thing! I have representative specimens from 14 spider Families in my Photostream so far!

I have used the following cameras:

--PENTAX Optio M30 (RIP Dropped very hard and Zoom/Lens Damaged)

--PENTAX Optio A40 (RIP LCD Screen done after about 14000 shots over 2 and a half years)

--Panasonic DMC-FZ35 (Returned this one)

--PENTAX Optio W90 (Returned this one too)

NEWEST CAMERA: Ricoh CX1 - got a super great deal on it (paid $140 NEW!) - and it works like a dream - less MP but better more powerful lens & camera - SWEET Macro!

-I try to take only wild pics, but I do resort to capture/photography/release methods.

-I do keep some spiders (P. audax specimens, Large Lycosidae, Widow Spiders, Recluse Specimens, just to name a few).

-I try to always geomap my photos with the place where the arachnid was captured!
