I am a musician, a Cabinet Maker, and paid better by one than the other!

I have been woodworking since the age of 16. I started as an apprentice veneer preparer with a reproduction antique furniture company in the u.k, where i studied the principles of how to use woodworking equipment and fine marquetry techniques.

I arrived in the U.S at 20 years old and began working under the Guidance of West Marin master craftsman Steve Meachum of westwood design. For four years i studied the use of exotic hardwoods and american/European joinery styles while becoming influenced by the Japanese approach to woodworking. I returned to the u.k where i worked with a contemporary fabrication company (TIN TAB) that provided high end custom work for both home owners and commercial facilities such as the BBC and Tate modern gallery in London. SInce returning to the U.S i have spent the last 6 years working as an independent cabinet maker and have built many items for contractors, home owners and designers in San Francisco and the bay area. I believe that woodworking in its true form is an expression of ones own measure, of accuracy, patience, and desire to leave an artistic mark as a statement of our existence.
