Unofficial Photographer of the State of New Mexico, ‘Doc’ is out there now, roaming the highways, the byways and the back alleys, seeing, observing, telling the story of the Land of Enchantment. The austere beauty of the landscape and architecture of that magical place comes through in each one of his images. What we get is pure and undistilled – the spirit of the place. That presence comes through whether we are looking at his images of the desert, the missions, the sky, or just a couple of trees. I invite you to wander through his opus: stop and marvel with him at the majesty of “The Towering Live Oaks”, the mystery of “The Silver River”, the poetry of “The Last of the Summer Breeze”. Visit the town, with its wonderful shops and galleries. And doors! Stop by the “Cigar Store” and get to know the cast of characters through a writer’s words as well as a photographer’s eye. First laugh, then weep as you realize the fragility of life itself. Do not miss his views of the Bosque, the Very Large Array, the basins, the ranges. And the light, always the light. He gets it. He gets it all. Hats off, David. We love you!
