Hello and thank you for visiting my Flickr photostream. I have had a keen interest in transport from being a small child - particularly buses, coaches and cars. I have been regularly attending vintage vehicle rallies mostly around north east England since the early 1990s - initially as a spectator, but from 1997 as a participating classic car owner myself, and over the years, have amassed a sizeable photographic collection of classic vehicles from the 1950s, '60's, '70's and '80s, as well as photos of old cars from the 1990s that are still in daily use.

From around 2005 I also started photographing buses in everyday service, initially with an old 35mm film camera and then from June 2007 using a Canon PowerShot A550 digital compact camera which served me well right up until the end of November 2014, when it was replaced by a Canon PowerShot G16.

I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I enjoy taking and sharing them.

Peter Barclay is just one of the most inspiring enthusiasts to be with; when out and about sharing a photo day together, at a bus or car rally, or just on an old train excursion. When viewing his quite incredible website one gets a sense of energy and enthusiam which then leads his admirers to go out and seek their own creativity. Peter's work is an inspiration for all to see and he seems to have travelled to every corner of the UK to find buses, trains and cars old and new, small and large, nice and perhaps not so nice! He has researched the history of British transport to a high standard and the quality of his photographing skills is exemplary for anyone to see. His involvement is so total that he even has his own collection of vintage cars too. Peter's generosity in helping others achieve their own aspirations, with regard particularly to photography, knows no bounds and he is only too glad to offer advice and praise on others work - every time his use of language is warm and helpful to friends and fellow enthusiasts alike. I believe that Peter is making a vast contribution to the world of transporting vehicles and his personal collection, which he is so willing to share with everyone, will have a lasting value for ever and ever.
