Welcome to my photostream! I've recently changed the name of my photography to 36 Exposures Photography, as I've become better at taking photos and would like to take this art a step further. I'm an occupational therapist by profession but I love taking photos during my free time. My interest in photography started out as a simple pastime but has quickly developed into a passion. I primarily work with plastic film cameras, but I also do digital. My style is very laid-back and simplistic. I love the idea of using just a simple camera, some delicious film, and the natural sunlight to create beautiful images that don't have to be Photoshopped later. I take a fly-on-the-wall, sometimes guerrilla-style approach to photography because I adore images of people and animals in their natural state. No fancy bells and whistles, cheesy posing, or stuffy studios here!
I like to blend my style into every type of photography, so I like to do model shoots, weddings, portraits, engagement photos, family photos, still life, travel photography, etc...I am also very inspired by the work of Cindy Sherman, and have been slowly but surely working on a self-portrait series.
Film cameras currently in my collection include: Holga 120 CFN, vintage Kodak Baby Brownie, SuperHeadz Yellow Peace with Super Fat Lens, Diana Mini, and LC-A+.
dSLR: Canon Rebel XTi
Besides all that, I'm happily married and have two spoiled but wonderful dogs, Mickey (a Sheltie) and Tonttu (A Lhasa-Poo). I studied in Oulu, Finland for the Spring semester of 2007 and have never been the same since.
