My daughter Helena (owly9 in Flickr) was stubborn enough to make me join Flickr. I live in Southern Finland.

I took some photos in the 1960's. That time we developed the films ourselves and made the prints in our own home. We used the toilet when taking the film out of the camera to avoid light and we had a dark room in the basement to make the copies. (We means that it was me and my older brother.) At that time the process was more important than the artistict outcome of the photos. It's a pity that I have only few of the old photos left.

Then there was a time of studying in the university in the 70`s, and the wife, and the children, and the the time of a lot of work, so no more pictures were taken except on holidays.

I started to take photos again when the digital cameras came. I bought my first digital camera in 2000. I have had 4 digital cameras this far, the first one was an Olympus with the problems of the battery cover. Then I bought a Canon PowerShot S1 IS, then later the Powershot S3 IS. Now I have a Canon 40D.

Now, at this age, I like to travel, so many of my photos are taken abroad.
