Astrid77 has been inspiring me for quite some time. Some of her work is amazingly cool, cutting edge and daring. Her stream has a delicious strand of minimalism running through it. Indeed, she often produces images which would be too bold for many minimalists, such as “ein Gras” which simply shows the tip of a blade of grass poking through the snow. Yet this is not the whole story. She can do cute pix with equal conviction, such as “lovers”, “fun guy” and several untitled works. Further, her macro shots, as featured in her “For a closer look” set are of a very high standard, both technically and artistically. My own style, such as it is, has been forged, in part, through my influences and I count Astrid77 as a key part of that.
