Sue Helm was elected to serve the people of the 104th District in 2006. As the people’s representative, Sue’s main focus will be on working for the elimination of property taxes. In addition, protecting the interests of small business and making government more open and accountable are among her top priorities.

 

Sue has been appointed to the Professional Licensure, Local Government, Children and Youth, and Urban Affairs committees.

 

Since 1986, Sue has been owner and broker of Century 21 At The Helm, a Harrisburg area real estate firm. She has served on the legislative committee of the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors and the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, and she has been active in the National Association of Realtors.

 

Sue has served as a member of the Republican State Committee and as a delegate and alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention. In 2000, she was selected as one of two Pennsylvania delegates to serve on the Republican National Convention’s Rules Committee. She served as president of the Dauphin County Council of Republican Women in 2005 and is immediate past first vice chair of the Dauphin County Republican Committee.

 

Sue is also an active member of her local community, serving on the board of directors of the Pride of the Susquehanna and as a member of the Harrisburg Historical Society. In addition, she is a past board member and trustee at Fort Hunter.

 

A lifelong resident of Dauphin County, Sue graduated from Susquehanna Township Senior High School and earned an Associate Degree in liberal arts from the Harrisburg Area Community College.

 

Sue lives in Susquehanna Township, where she is a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

 

On Nov. 7, 2006, Sue Helm became the first woman elected to serve in the legislature in Dauphin County history.
