from Feb 2007 till April 2019 West Coast Shuttle operated a daily return coach service through Arthur's Pass to Christchurch.

This road offers many challenges from extreme winter driving through to high summer temeratures.

The road was built using manual labour in the 1860's through tough mountainous conditions.
