Josh's landscape photography is not only incredibly beautiful to look at, it also shows his sensitivity and reverence for the beauty of the nature that surrounds him in his vast "back yard." His work inspires me to look through my viewfinder at the world around me differently than I ever have before. So often on flickr, those contacts whose work you most admire don't bother to comment on work that is not yet at their level. Josh, however, is encouraging to developing photographers, and he generously takes the time to comment - thoughtfully - on my images. I just discovered that he has made me a flickr friend, and I am proud to do so in return.

I think of myself as primarily a black and white film user, and Nurse Kato’s magnificent black and white digital work has particularly inspired me – both by showing what is possible in digital black and white, and by allowing me to see ways to move beyond my former digital limits (for example, I realized I could go ahead and darken those skies!).
