I'm a freelance photographer and a writer. I provide frequent photographic and written material to numerous publications around the world including various broadsheet newspapers and mainstream magazines in the UK, US and France.

I'm a Lonely Planet author writing guides to Spain, France and Norway, various parts of Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Chad and Cape Verde), Yemen, Iraq and South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Burma) and Indonesia. I am also the author of the Bradt guide to Benin in West Africa.

I also work as a surf journalist and explorer. My expeditions in search of new or little known surf spots have taken me from the coastal deserts of Pakistan and Yemen to the rain soaked jungles of Colombia and the Arctic tundra in winter. I have surfed with pygmies in Central Africa and reported on womens surf contests in Bangladesh. The stories and photographs of these trips appear frequently in the international surf media including Surfers Path, Tracks, Carve, Surf Session, Japanese Surfing World and many others.

I am based on the beaches of southwest France.
