Been a car nut all my life with a passion for convertibles, I've owned loads of them over the years, currently I have a 1973 V12 E-Type roadster and a 1989 Mercedes 300SL.

Love motor racing, my first visit to a motor racing circuit was in 1969 at Oulton Park. I've been to most of the racing circuits in the UK and watched many of the greats such as Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, Jackie Stewart, Lauda, Senna et al.

Attended the 1982 Le Mans 24 hours where the aptly numbered 1, 2 and 3 Rothmans Porsche 956's finished 1st, 2nd & 3rd with Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell crossing the line first. Other major races I've attended include the 1991 Indianapolis 500, the 1981 Monaco Grand Prix where only 7 cars finished and Gilles Villeneuve kept his Ferrari wide enough around the track to secure his first victory since 1979. In the 70's and 80's I attended many British GP's - these were the days when the race alternated between Brands Hatch and Silverstone.

I've always enjoyed visiting car museums - you never know what you will find, some of my favourites include the Blackhawk in California and the Schlumpf in Mulhouse. There once was a lovely museum in Stratford Upon Avon which I visited in the 1970's, they didn't have many cars but I'll never forget seeing the Hispano Suiza and a Rolls Royce which once belonged to a Maharaja who had it built to go hunting tigers.

I try to attend many of the major classic car events including the Silverstone Classic, Spa Classic, Le Mans Classic and the events held at Goodwood.

I enjoy driving in Europe each year in one of my classics and have participated in rallies held at Laon and Angouleme in France. In 2018 I drove my SL through France, Switzerland and Italy before catching a ferry to Greece where I participated in the Tour Du Peloponnese, by the time I got home I had covered 3,000 miles in 3 weeks.

One of my all time favourite drives was in 2003 when I drove a Jaguar XKR convertible on a round trip from San Diego to Monterey along Pacific coast highway - fabulous experience!

I don't normally carry a camera so when I see something I like I pull out my ageing I-phone to capture the moment.
