Born in England in 1947, I was educated at St. Augustine's college and Chiswick Polytechnical college where I did an Arts course. I decided to emigrate to Oz in 1964 and since then have always considered myself Australian. I often tell people that they were lucky enough to be born here but I made this country mine by choice.

In partnership with Martin Wilde in 1981, we set up a backyard printing business called Marksman Press.

Marksman has been involved in embellishment for the printing industry for the last 30 years. After buying out my partner in 1983, I decided to centre all activities on work for the printing trade.

Our Specialities are : Foil Stamping, Embossing/Debossing (Plate Sinking) Letterpress Printing, Thermography, Forme Cutting (Shape Cutting) and Creasing.

Of course the reason for the name "Marksman Press" is for my skill with the target rifle. I won the Victorian Championship gold medal and came 4th in the Australian championship.

Because I am good at working with my hands, I became interested in woodworking. I purchased an entry level lathe recently and am now a keen and reasonably successful wood turner. My other great love has always been photography, having bought my first 35 mm camera (an Agfa Silette) at the age of 13. I progressed to a Minolta SRT 101 and had all the requisite lenses and gear until somebody stole the entire lot, gadget bag as well. My current camera is a Canon EOS 650D which I love.

I live in S.E. Melbourne area, but have a holiday house in Gippsland, at Loch Sport. Many of my photos have been taken there.
