Born in 1942 I will later this year attain the age of 80 on 2022 November 28.

I regard myself as a Transport photographer embracing most aspects of commercial and public transport.

I try to take photographs that embrace not only the main subject but also that contain views of streets, buildings, other transport operations, infrastructure and prominent geographical landmarks such as mountains, rivers, valleys etc. Railway pictures in many cases attempt to include important infrastructure especially when it is probably intended to be replaced or changed.

Too many bus photographers in Australia take images that include only the bus. That to them is the all important issue and shows little or nothing of the bus within a scene. Pictures of this nature will in future years be of less interest to the general population whose interests may be little more than cursory. These people some of whom will be historians would have gained much more if there had been other items of interest to compliment the subject.
