I'm so glad to join in the fun of sharing creative ideas, critiques, and information with you all. Everyone is so generous and talented!

I'm getting into photography from an art career cut short by using too many toxic art materials. Finally just couldn't do it anymore. Digital photography is giving me the option of exploring art again without being poisoned. So I suppose my photos will tend to look more like artwork by default.

I love color and light, and stories seen in one view. No doubt my stuff is going to look somewhat saturated.

I'm starting off with a Canon Powershot S3 to get familiarized with cameras and becoming friends with them. Then I will upgrade to a DSLR.

I love the texture and painterlyness of the HDR process so I'm excited to start trying that out. There are so many excellent HDR photos being done here! I think the HDR process will evolve and improve as more photographers use it so it's fun to be part of that exploration.

August 2008: I just got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel XTi (400D) ... Yay! ... so it will be a new journey to discover what I can do with it. So much to learn!

At this time I am adding single image tone-mapped processing to many of my photos at www.createhdr.com

It's a fun site where you can refine the amount of processing with sliders and # values to get the look you want. And btw, it's free.

I would like to use Photomatix and multiple exposures to create HDR but I don't yet have the computer capabilities for that. But hopefully ... soon ;-)
