As I take my leisurely strolls through flickr, I am amazed at the beauty and variety of what I see. There are those among us who share everything that their camera points at. I love their families and their vacations.
Then there are those who use their photography as either an extension of their being or as a wonderful art form. As a sub group here, we have those who state in their profiles that light is everything. We also have those among us who post process so heavily that the final subject matter, no matter how realistic or surrealistic it may be, seems of the utmost importance.
Where do I fit in this. I don’t know. I enjoy the magnificent macros, the lush landscapes, the gently lit portraits and the thoughtfully arranged still life. Someday I would like to find myself in the second paragraph and learn to use the light to find reality and have enough post processing skills to help with my deficiencies.
Then as now, I will consider photography to be the celebration of a visual moment.
