My wonderful wife and I are a retired couple - which sounds so much nicer than 'Old age pensioners' which is the reality.

I try to convince her that nature photography necessitates being out in the elements, carrying quite heavy equipment and much walking; a healthy life style which justifies the expense. She remains unconvinced but indulges my whim and I, in turn, consume without complaint, the fruits of her passion for cooking and preparation of fine food. It's tough.

My buddy icon is a koala who very occasionally visits our place, and that is very exciting on a "suburban" house block.
