Historically, after taking a BIG stupid detour away from creativity toward more sensible pursuits like college and career, I came back to art when I started fighting for artist's rights with the Free Speech Coalition Kansas City, and then came poetry, sketchbooking and zine-ing again. I keep a gig at the Kansas City Art Institute and make mixmed stitch as often as I can ;0}.)

Most days, I like floss and fiber embroidery over watercolor or acrylic on unbleached muslin, though I work in paper and metal too. I choose mostly nature subjects from my gardens, but with some Freedom of Stitch twist--like when plants fight back! Ultimately, I think all media should mix and be 3D about it.

Also, Currently, I am developing some more Fearless Studio materials for classes and workshops, and a teaching series of mixed media stitch projects.
